Product Description
The 220 series of coated glass beads utilises a traditional cold-coating process using methyl silicone oil. When applied to hot-melt road marking surfaces, these coated glass beads effectively resolve the issue of ‘sinking’ beads, which can prevent the marking from achieving the desired initial retroreflective effect. This product represents a low-cost, entry-level option for surface application. This series is divided into three grades—A, B and C—based on particle size, each suited to different application scenarios.
220A Glass Beads
Particle size distribution complies with BS6088A (no quantitative grading). Apart from particle size distribution, all other specifications adhere to the GB/T 24722-2020 standard for ‘Glass Beads for Road Markings’. This is a general-purpose product offering excellent value for money.
Comparable to US No. 3 beads, these 18–40 mesh large-sized glass beads are recommended for surface application on new lines. They can be used in conjunction with 220B beads as large beads for pre-application on new lines. Single-pass retroreflectivity ≥150, double-pass retroreflectivity ≥250.
